Creating Your First Brand
Step-by-step guide to setting up your brand profile, defining voice and tone, and configuring content pillars for AI-powered content generation.
Why Brand Setup Matters
Your brand profile is the foundation of Audenci's AI-powered content generation. The more detailed and accurate your brand setup, the better AI can:
- Generate on-brand content that matches your voice
- Suggest relevant topics aligned with your content pillars
- Create captions that resonate with your target audience
- Maintain consistency across all your social platforms
Spend time on this setup - it will save you hours of editing AI-generated content later!

Defining Brand Voice & Tone
Brand voice is one of the most important settings for AI content generation. It determines the personality and style of all AI-generated content.
Primary Tone Selection
Choose the tone that best represents your brand:
Professional
Best for: B2B companies, financial services, legal firms, consulting
Characteristics: Formal, authoritative, polished, corporate
Example: 'Our enterprise solutions deliver measurable ROI through streamlined workflows and advanced analytics.'
Casual
Best for: B2C brands, lifestyle companies, retail, personal brands
Characteristics: Conversational, approachable, friendly, relatable
Example: 'Hey there! We've got something cool to share with you today.'
Playful
Best for: Entertainment, creative agencies, youth-focused brands
Characteristics: Fun, witty, creative, energetic
Example: '🎉 Ready to level up your game? Let's make some magic happen!'
Inspirational
Best for: Coaching, fitness, personal development, non-profits
Characteristics: Motivating, uplifting, aspirational, empowering
Example: 'You have the power to transform your life. Start your journey today.'
Educational
Best for: EdTech, training, consultants, thought leaders
Characteristics: Informative, teaching, expert, helpful
Example: 'Understanding the fundamentals is key. Here's what you need to know...'
Custom Voice Description
Add nuance with a custom description. This is where you can mix tones and add personality:
Good examples:
- 'Professional but approachable, like a trusted advisor'
- 'Casual and fun, but always informative'
- 'Inspirational with practical, actionable advice'
- 'Educational without being condescending, friendly expert'
Bad examples (too vague):
- 'Nice and good'
- 'Professional'
- 'Like our competitors'
Be specific! The more detailed your voice description, the better AI can match your brand's unique personality.
Setting Up Content Pillars
Content pillars are the 3-5 core themes that your content strategy revolves around. They help:
- Maintain a balanced content mix
- Guide AI content generation with relevant topics
- Ensure you're covering all important aspects of your brand
- Prevent repetitive or one-dimensional content
How to Choose Content Pillars
Ask yourself: What are the 3-5 main things we want to talk about?
Example for a SaaS company:
- Product Updates - New features, improvements, releases
- Customer Success - Case studies, testimonials, results
- Industry Insights - Trends, news, thought leadership
- Educational Content - How-tos, tips, best practices
- Company Culture - Behind-the-scenes, team highlights
Example for a fitness coach:
- Workout Tips - Exercises, form, routines
- Nutrition Advice - Meal planning, recipes, nutrition science
- Motivation & Mindset - Inspiration, mental health, success stories
- Client Transformations - Before/after, testimonials
We recommend 3-5 pillars for focus, but you can create up to 10. If you have many topics, consider grouping similar ones together.
Adding Content Pillars
- In the Brand Hub wizard or Identity tab, find Content Pillars section
- Click 'Add Pillar'
- Enter pillar name (2-4 words)
- Add description (1-2 sentences explaining what content fits here)
- Optionally set color/icon for visual identification
- Repeat for 2-4 more pillars
Each pillar should have:
- Clear name that's easy to understand
- Brief description with examples
- Distinct from other pillars (minimal overlap)
Adding Products & Services (Optional)
If you sell products or services, adding them to your brand profile helps AI:
- Generate product-focused content
- Create promotional posts
- Tag products in social media posts
- Suggest relevant product mentions
Single Product Entry
- Go to Brand Hub > Offerings tab
- Click 'Add Product'
- Enter product name
- Add description (features, benefits, use case)
- Upload product image (optional but recommended)
- Add price (optional)
- Categorize with tags
- Click Save
Bulk Import via CSV
For large product catalogs:
- Click 'Import Products'
- Download the CSV template
- Fill in: Name, Description, Image URL, Price, Category
- Upload completed CSV
- Review and confirm import
You can always add products later. Don't let this slow down your initial setup!
Best Practices
Do's
- Be specific and detailed in all descriptions
- Use your actual brand voice in the voice description
- Keep content pillars distinct and focused
- Upload high-quality logo and product images
- Review and update brand settings quarterly
Don'ts
- Don't rush through the voice description - this is critical
- Don't use generic descriptions like 'We're great'
- Don't create overlapping content pillars
- Don't skip the brand setup thinking you'll do it later
- Don't copy competitor's voice - be authentic
Take your time with brand setup. The 15 minutes you invest now will save hours of content editing in the future!
