Workflow Approvals & Governance
Implement enterprise governance with multi-level approvals, compliance workflows, legal review, and audit trails for regulated industries.
Enterprise Governance Overview
Enterprise governance ensures content compliance before publishing. Features include: Multi-level approval workflows, Role-based review assignments, Compliance checklists, Legal review requirements, Audit trails, Mandatory review for high-risk content.
Multi-Level Approval Workflows
Configure approval levels based on content risk: Level 1 (Manager): All content requires manager approval, Level 2 (Legal/Compliance): High-risk content (financial claims, medical info) requires legal review, Level 3 (Executive): Public statements and crisis communications require executive sign-off. Posts cannot be scheduled until all required approvals are granted.

Currently implemented as a manual process. Automated multi-level approval enforcement coming soon.
Risk Classification
Automated risk classification is on our roadmap. Currently, manually tag posts for appropriate review level.
Classify content by risk level: Low Risk (general marketing, behind-the-scenes) - Manager approval only, Medium Risk (product claims, testimonials) - Manager + Compliance approval, High Risk (financial, medical, legal advice) - Manager + Legal + Executive approval. Risk classification determines required approval levels.
Compliance Checklists
Automated compliance checklists are on our roadmap and will be available in a future update.
Create compliance checklists for reviewers: FTC disclosure requirements (sponsored content marked), HIPAA compliance (no patient data), FINRA compliance (financial claims reviewed), FDA compliance (medical claims substantiated), GDPR compliance (privacy disclosures). Reviewers must check all items before approval.
Legal Review Requirements
Automated legal review routing is on our roadmap. Currently, manually assign posts for legal review.
Require legal review for specific content: Content categories (legal, financial, medical), Claims and comparisons (competitor comparisons), User-generated content (testimonials, reviews), Crisis communications, Regulatory announcements. Legal team member must approve before scheduling.
Mandatory Review Tags
Tag posts requiring special review: [Legal Review Required], [Compliance Check Needed], [Executive Approval Needed], [Sensitive Content], [Regulated Claim]. Tags trigger automated assignment to appropriate reviewers.
Review SLAs
Automated SLA tracking and escalation is on our roadmap and will be available in a future update.
Set Service Level Agreements for reviews: Manager review: Within 4 hours, Compliance review: Within 24 hours, Legal review: Within 48 hours, Executive review: Within 72 hours. Track SLA compliance and send escalation notifications when SLAs are missed.
Build review time into content calendar. Don't schedule posts for tomorrow if they need 48-hour legal review.
Approval Comments & Rationale
Require comments on all approval decisions: Approvals: Optional comment explaining approval, Rejections: Mandatory comment explaining reason, Change Requests: Mandatory comment with specific changes needed. Comments become part of audit trail.
Audit Trail
Complete audit trail for all content: Who created the post, When it was created, Who reviewed at each level, When reviews occurred, Comments and decisions, Final approval chain, Publishing timestamp, Any changes after approval. Audit trails cannot be edited or deleted.
Compliance Reports
Automated compliance reporting is on our roadmap and will be available in a future update.
Generate compliance reports for regulators: All content published in date range, Approval chain for each post, Risk classification, Compliance checklist results, Legal review outcomes, Policy violations (if any). Export as PDF for audits and regulatory submissions.
Policy Violations
Track and document policy violations: Content published without proper approval, Compliance checklist items not completed, SLAs missed, Legal review bypassed. Violations trigger alerts and appear in compliance dashboard. Track violation trends to identify training needs.
